Villa Matahari Terbit is set in the heart of Bali’s historic seaside town Sanur, Southeast Bali. As Bali’s first beach side escape for visitors, it has a wealth of things to do.

Since the early 1900’s Sanur has been attracting European artists and visitors, meaning the diversity of handicrafts and unique souvenirs to the more modern mainstream shops is evident as you walk through the tree lined streets. 

Unlike other areas in the South of Bali, the offshore reefs and rock formations in Sanur have created sheltered lagoons with calm seas perfect for swimming and cooling off on a warm day.  However, it is not unusual to see a surfer on the outside of the reef lagoons catching the waves in the deeper waters.

Sanur’s beaches are all open to the public and flanked by a stone pathway, whether you choose to walk or take a bicycle it is easy to enjoy the coastal breeze and the wealth of cafes, restaurants and beach bars on the beach front. With live music and bands often accompanying sunset drinks on the beach.
